This past weekend, the Phnom Penh Post team delivered crucial aid to displaced people in Preah Vihear and Siem Reap provinces, just one week after launching our urgent fundraising appeal.
As of December 22, more than 520,000 Cambodians along the borders had to flee their homes as the ongoing conflict continues.
The response was overwhelming. In just seven days, generous local and international philanthropists rallied to our cause, providing vital donations. Their contributions encompassed not only financial support but also essential materials, nourishing food, mosquito nets, blankets, sleeping mats and much-needed school supplies for the children forced to escape the harrowing threat of Thai artillery and airstrikes.
In the face of such hardship, The Post stands in unwavering solidarity with the displaced. We are committed to continuing our efforts and urgently appeal for further donations from compassionate individuals.
To uphold our steadfast commitment to transparency, a detailed record of all income and expenses is meticulously provided in the attached link.
The staff of The Post extends our deepest gratitude to every single philanthropist who contributed to this vital humanitarian mission, with a special thank you to the Temple Group for their generous support in accommodating our dedicated team. Your kindness has made a tangible difference in the lives of those most affected.
Thanks also go to Boeung Ket Football Club, Burberry & Kids Around for their contributions, and Sok Dara and Sok Lundy for supporting us with the delivery work.
