The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) and the Provincial Departments of Health of Battambang, Pursat, Pailin and Banteay Meanchey convened the “2025 Annual Review and 2026 Planning Workshop for Improving Quality of Healthcare Services” on December 3-4 in Siem Reap.
Since 2011, KOFIH, under the Ministry of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea, has cooperated with the Cambodian Ministry of Health to improve the quality of healthcare services, particularly in Cambodia’s northwestern provinces.
The workshop brought together key national and provincial health authorities to share the 2025 project implementation outcomes and to outline the direction for the coming year for KOFIH-supported projects in the four provinces — Improving Quality of Non-Communicable Disease Services (IQ-NCD), the Strengthening of Communicable Disease Control (SCDC) and the Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (EmONC).

During the workshop, Dr. Ros Saphath from the National Maternal and Child Health Center (NMCHC) presented updates on Maternal and Perinatal Death Surveillance and Response (MPDSR), followed by provincial-level outcome reporting on the NCD and SCDC projects, both of which are entering their final year of implementation.
Mr. Song Yonggun, KOFIH Cambodia Country Representative, shared the overall strategic direction for the 2026 project framework and expressed appreciation for the continued cooperation and dedication of the four provincial health departments in strengthening Cambodia’s healthcare quality. KOFIH reaffirmed its commitment to reducing health inequalities in Cambodia.
